Ventura Travel & Tourism
Welcome to Ventura, CA!
Ventura sits in a valley between two rivers, the Ventura and the Santa Clara, and is just 65 mi (105 km) north of Los Angeles. The soil is rich and the weather is warm—ideal conditions for citrus production, making it not a surprise that the Sunkist corporation calls the region home. Ventura is a classic beach town, but has the added distinction of being the gateway to Channel Islands National Park. Camping and kayaking tours originate on the mainland and carry people across the Pacific Ocean to the National Park. Catering to its many guests, Ventura offers entertainment and excitement through the city's various art galleries, museums, day spas, comedy clubs, theaters, fairs and festivals. Visitors enjoy perusing the more than 60 antique, classic and modern cars on display at the Murphy Auto Museum. The nearby Six Flags Magic Mountain provides thrilling family fun and San Buenaventura Mission offers a glimpse into the area's colorful history.
